Chaperone Policy for Female Patients
Islamabad International Aljannat Hospital is committed to providing a safe and respectful environment for all patients, particularly female patients. A chaperone — a female member of the hospital staff, preferably a nurse or female attendant — will be offered to all female patients undergoing intimate examinations, procedures, or treatments. The patient has the right to decline; the decision will be documented in the medical record. Chaperones maintain patient confidentiality and adhere to the hospital's privacy policies.
Responsibilities
- Female patients: right to request a chaperone during intimate examinations, procedures, or treatments
- Healthcare providers: offer a chaperone to female patients undergoing intimate examinations, procedures, or treatments
- Chaperones: provide emotional support, ensure patient dignity and comfort, and maintain patient confidentiality
Ecological & Environmental Steps
At Islamabad International Aljannat Hospital, we are committed to environmental sustainability and reducing our ecological footprint. We aim to further collaborate with civic agencies to implement sustainable practices and contribute to a greener future.
- Dual Solar Power Systems — two separate solar systems with battery backup ensure a reliable, green energy source and back-up during power outages.
- Biohazard Waste Management — autoclaving converts biohazard waste into municipal waste, eliminating incineration and minimising environmental pollution.
- Rainwater Harvesting — a harvesting system is being installed to conserve water and reduce dependence on the municipal supply.
- Green Spaces — trees in front of the hospital and natural indoor plants promote a soothing ambience and support local biodiversity.
Patient Rights & Responsibilities
Patients have the right to informed consent, respect for autonomy, and dignity. Patients are expected to provide accurate information, follow treatment plans, and respect hospital policies and staff.
Staff Conduct & Ethics
Hospital staff must maintain the highest standards of conduct and ethics, including respect for patients' dignity, confidentiality, and cultural sensitivities.
Confidentiality & Data Protection
The hospital ensures the confidentiality and security of patient data, in compliance with relevant laws and regulations. Records are held in secure electronic systems with encryption, firewalls, and role-based access — only authorised personnel can view them.
Emergency Preparedness
The hospital has emergency response plans in place to ensure the safety of patients, staff, and visitors in case of natural disasters, fires, or pandemics.
Compliance with Laws & Regulations
The hospital complies with all relevant laws, regulations, and industry standards — including those related to healthcare, employment, and environmental sustainability.
Agreements & Legal Bindings
All agreements, accords, understandings, and conformities are documented in legally recognisable agreements. Parties must adhere to the hospital's fundamental constitution. In cases of ambiguity, conflict, or misunderstanding, parties abide by the owner's (and team's) final verdicts after due deliberation. Well-defined boundaries — aligned with Islamic principles and values, prohibiting interest (riba) and other contradictory financial, moral, social, and religious aspects — are established. Any deliberate patient neglect is intolerable and will attract strong caution and punishment as per hospital policy. Disputes are settled amicably within the hospital premises, guided by the Quran and Sunnah, without resorting to court proceedings.
